#20 Lenticels

Lenticels are pongy areas in the corky surface of plant parts, such as twigs and stems, that allow gas exchange between the atmosphere and the internal tissues of the plant. In some plant species, lenticels are raised round dots;   they may also be seen as vertical or horizontal slits.
